Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah
The global demand for halal products is fast changing the landscape of halal business. In response, the Selangor State Government has made the first step to become the leading halal hub in Malaysia through its investment arm, Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB) who in turn, has entrusted Central Spectrum (M) Sdn. Bhd. (CSSB) to undertake the project called Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah. CSSB is a property developer that specializes in developing industrial properties under its main project Pulau Indah Industrial Park in Pulau Indah, Port Klang, Selangor.
In 2003, Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah was officially launched by the Chief Minister of Selangor. Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah is poised to become a conducive regional hub in the halal product industry. Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah is a fully integrated development for high tech and modern manufacturing activities of Halal products encompassing 1000 acres in Pulau Indah, Selangor.
The market for halal food products consumed from both Muslim and Non-Muslim countries around the world, is estimated at US$641 billion while in Malaysia it is estimated at close to US$10 billion. Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah is strategically located next to West Port which trades to over 500 ports worldwide : an ideal gateway to global Halal economy for the world market. Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah has obtained “Designated Halal Park” by Halal Industry Development Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (HDC) in 2008 and HALMAS status in March 2010. Phase 3 Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah of 300 acres will be developed by end 2012 and with that will make the total area for Selangor Halal Hub Pulau Indah to be 1000 acres.
